Who Are We?

Who Are We?

We are a church with an apostolic heart, in relationship with New Covenant Ministries International.

We are an Elder lead church and we do not regard NCMI as our headquarters or a denomination but rather rely on the apostolic authority and the friendships we have forged with those who serve in the NCMI apostolic team.

History

About Cornerstone Church

Cornerstone Church was started in March 1983. The church is currently in it's third generation of leadership. Initially the church was led by Leon and Pat van Daele and then by Jim and Margaret Lamont.

Both of these couples have since moved on to full-time apostolic work. Leon and Pat serve in Australasia and are based in Adelaide. Jim and Margaret serve in the Americas and are based in Los Angeles.

Marcus and Adele Herbert now lead Cornerstone Church.

We remain an apostolic church in relationship with New Covenant Ministries International.

We are an Elder lead church, and we do not regard NCMI as our headquarters or a denomination. We rely on the apostolic authority and the friendships we have forged with those who serve in the NCMI apostolic team.

Where are we?

New Covenant Ministries International

We relate to a team of men and women who call themselves New Covenant Ministries International. They operate in trans-local ministry and are invited into the life of the church to provide apostolic and prophetic foundations and we submit to their oversight. We commit ourselves to a common vision to fulfil the Great Commission of Matthew 28:18-20, to see a New Testament church planted in every village, town, city, province and country, on every continent.

We make our resources (finances, giftings and people) available to support them, as together we fulfil this vision. We support the numerous EQUIP times organised locally and internationally, where we gather with other relating churches to celebrate and equip ourselves for the way forward. More about the New Covenant team can be found on their web site.
