Sunday morning meetings are at 9am. Expect a great time of worship and the preaching of God’s Word, usually done by 10:30am with tea and coffee afterwards and some hanging with friends and strangers. Fresh Ground, Central’s coffee shop, sells speciality hot drinks to satisfy your finer tastes.
If you’re a visitor, please join us in the Visitor’s Lounge at the back of the auditorium for something to drink and something for your sweet tooth, so we can chat to you about any ‘next steps’ should you have your eye on joining us.
Why not download some of our latest preaching material and take a listen?
Babies Bible Class is for 0 – 3 year olds and their parents and happens during the Sunday morning meeting. Bring your little ones with you to the Sunday meeting in the main hall and sit in seats reserved for moms and dads of little ones, near the Parents’ Lounge entrance. Escape to the Playroom if Junior’s antics are making you a little shy. After Sunday morning worship time, join the team in the Playground (bottom of the staircase at the back of the auditorium). Each class is very much the same as the last to get the young ones well-grounded in what to expect from each time together and to easily join in.
The Parents’ Lounge is space for little ones to take their moms and dads during any meeting so that they can play as they should but moms and dads can still hear what it is they came to church for. Equipped with sound and TV projection of the stage, ample lounge seating, a nappy changing corner and loads to keep Junior busy, all behind closed doors, our aim is that everyone can be a part of church.
The Playground is just down the stairs with doors to the outside if (you or) your little one need a bit of fresh air or outside running space.
The Mothers’ Room gives moms privacy for breastfeeding. There are also cots available for sleeping angels.
Children’s Church is for children from 3 years old (potty trained) to Grade 7 and takes place while Sunday morning meetings are on. High schoolers join the main meeting.
There are two venues for Children's Church:
Children are checked in at the door and must be fetched by the same person or an approved friend or family member older than 16 years old. The fun starts with some play time followed by worship, object lessons and classroom lessons for each age group with crafts for the younger children. We end off the morning with snacks and something to drink and some supervised 'chill time' in our well-equipped playground. Parents are welcome to join their children for as long as they want, especially if they’re new and unsure.
During holidays children join the main meeting and about once a term we have a Family Meeting where children start in the main auditorium and after worship and a story go to the usual venues to continue with their program.
Central Café is when Central Cornerstone Church doubles up as a dining room, with all the setup of a great place to be with beautiful people and meet with an Awesome God. Bring your Sunday supper and new friends of Cornerstone to Central Café and hear what God has on His mind to say to you. There is always loads of tea and coffee and speciality coffees are on sale from Fresh Ground.
Cornerstone Life groups are small groups of people that meet in homes throughout Johannesburg. Why LIFE Groups? Because it’s the most likely place you’ll find the LIFE of Cornerstone, where relationships are tangible and your connections grounded. It’s where meals are shared, sermons are discussed and church-life ins and outs are covered. It’s where you join with your team to support other ministries and where you reach out to newcomers to make them feel at home. Join the family where it really matters -find yourself a LIFE group.

(Prayer at 6:00pm, Supper together at 7:00pm)
Corporate or Family Prayer is an essential part of the life of any church and we do this weekly on Wednesday evenings. It’s a time of focussing outward and we pray for things like other countries, other churches and churches that have planted from us.
After prayer we have a family dinner together. It is R15 for Adults and R10 for children just to cover costs. This is followed by Bible School that ends at 8:30pm.
(7:30pm to 8:30pm)
What we do on a bible school night is our best effort to equip, prepare, resource and mature all of our family in knowing the word, and then knowing how to make it effective in our lives. These times can be more interactive than Sunday meeting, giving opportunity to ask questions.
Each term the courses include:
DNA: Introduction to Cornerstone life.
Foundations: Foundational teachings of the Christian faith.
Love Joburg: Practical sharing of our faith. We go out and meet people in various places around town.
Book of the Bible: A systematic exposition of a book of the Bible.
Leadership: Training for anyone who believes God is calling them to leadership.
Family: Practical subjects like: Parenting, Restoration of Relationships and Marriage.
Life Skills: Practical equipping for life.
Theology: Bible college subjects like Systematic Theology, Hermeneutics and Homiletics.

Mums n Munchkins is for moms with babies and toddlers. As moms of little ones we need to be able to discuss the practical day-to-day things about being a mom, from discipline to sleeping, giggles to gripes while still keeping our focus on the King and His Kingdom. Our desire is that we help each other set the pace of our walk with God as we lean on him to nurture our children and be good friends. Our time together is very relaxed and all the chatting happens with our children playing around our feet.
When: Tuesday mornings at 9am during school term, except for the last Tuesday of the month when we meet on Friday afternoons at different fun kid-venues.
