This year October marks the 500th anniversary of the Reformation – a moment in history that completely changed the world. It was the moment when five truths of the gospel were rediscovered. These truths, which we call the “Five Solas” of the Reformation (“Sola” is latin for “only”), led to major social upheaval, cultural change, and birthed revival across Europe. These were:
1. Sola scriptura (“by Scripture alone”)
2. Sola fide (“by faith alone”)
3. Sola gratia (“by grace alone”)
4. Solus Christus or Solo Christo (“Christ alone” or “through Christ alone”)
5. Soli Deo gloria (“glory to God alone”)
Why are these so important? Why did they create so much change in history? What do they have to do with us today? These are the questions we will be answering in a five-week preaching series. This series will be hugely enriching for your faith in Christ.

FREEDOM MOVEMENT
500 years of Reformation
by Michael Reeves
It shouldn’t be possible to talk about the Reformation without talking about the gospel.
Martin Luther’s discovery has fascinated artists, inspired reformers, envisioned abolitionists, and given beautiful hope to millions. It has changed the world — and continues to do so.
Michael Reeves serves the church in this 500th-anniversary year by writing an evangelistic resource that tells the story of that discovery, draws out its effectiveness and beauty, and speaks of its consequences for the history of the world.
On this 500th year since the beginning of the Reformation, this small but powerful resource enables you to capture the historical moment effectively to carry on the work of Reformation: to get the story of the gospel to world.
