Maseru youth outreach 29 April- 2 May
The drive to Lesotho was long and tiring but the Quantum’s atmosphere was filled with anticipation for the adventure awaiting. When arriving at our accommodation at Scripture Union in Maseru, we soon realized that this was going to be a different experience; we were warmly welcomed by unfamiliar faces and made friends that would last a lifetime.
Saturday morning started with a wonderful worship session and followed by two workshops, Practical evangelism and healing and the other being Treasure hunting and the prophetic. We were well taught and equipped on the two topics and prepared to apply it practically. Amazingly one group experienced Gods divine healing during their training session and a person was healed from backache. The different teams then left to go out into the city of Maseru and not one of them came back without amazing testimonies of many salvations and healings. One example was where one of the leaders went with a group into a busy part of town and caused a stirring by loudly proclaiming the gospel over a microphone. Many people came up for healing prayer and the gospel truly went out in power. Later that afternoon we had some fun playing volley ball and some went to a children’s home where more healings were witnessed and we experienced more of the practical outworking of Gods love. After dinner we had an incredible time of prayer and worship in which the presence of the Spirit was so tangible and real.
Sunday we woke up early and split up and visited different churches. The service was entirely different to what we South Africans are use to and carried on for three hours. The service was held in a small old classroom and filled to capacity. The worship was incredibly lively and liberating. It was so inspiring to see the way the people cried out to God for things only known in their hearts and the way they praised him for everything they have. We had a very jubilant time there! After the service we were treated like royalty and blessed with refreshments.
We arrived back in the afternoon and had a great time fellowshipping with everybody. Lesotho is a beautiful place and the people are so genuine. We were sad to leave, but we loved the experience and consider it a wonderful privilege to have served with the people of Lesotho in actively sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are all greatly humbled by how powerfully God worked through us.
